Uses of "I want you to" in English

Using "I want you to" is very easy to increase your English, in this lesson you will learn in an easy way these uses.

Using "I want you to" can be used to tell someone that you have a desire or would like to do it. Examples:

  1. "Look," he said in a confidential tone, "I want you to know that me and Joey are cops.".
  2. At the end of the various speeches, I want you to propose a vote of thanks to his parents.
  3. First of all, I want you to review what we learned yesterday.
  4. For homework I want you to write an essay on endangered species.

By using the word "need" instead of "want", you are expressing something wanted. Here are some examples:
